SOPBG.org — Children with SEN

About us

Knowledge and support for children with SEN — since 2011. SOPBG.org (Children with SEN) is a Bulgarian educational portal for children with special educational needs. We bring together clear information, practical materials and ideas for work — for parents, teachers and specialists.

The portal and its community

The portal was created in 2011 with one aim: a parent, teacher or specialist looking for an answer about a child with special educational needs should find it in one place — explained clearly and useful in practice.

Here you will find articles on the development of speech, learning, motor skills and the senses, guidance for parents and teachers, worksheets, learning games and news about inclusive education. The main pages and some of the materials are also in English.

A community has grown around the portal too — our Facebook page and group, where parents and specialists share experience, questions and good ideas.

How we prepare the materials

Every material on the portal is based on at least one of these sources:

Before it is published, every material is reviewed and assessed by the administrator of the portal. Official and verified sources come first, as do approaches that have proved to work in practice — including in the work of the speech and occupational therapist Stanislava Kodeva and of psychologists, resource teachers and other specialists. Some materials are also reviewed by Stanislava Kodeva.

When a text is based on a particular website, book or textbook, we name the source in the material itself. If you notice anything inaccurate or out of date, please write to us through the Contacts page.

Important

The materials on the portal are educational. They do not make a diagnosis and do not replace a consultation with a doctor, psychologist, speech therapist or another specialist who knows the child. The orientation questionnaire in the “Test” section is a guide, not a diagnosis.

How you can help

The portal grows with the experience of the people around it. If you have an idea, a material or useful experience, share it with us.
